Event Cleaning in New York City

Event Cleaning in New York CityPreparing the perfect event entails spending a considerable amount of time and effort planning even the smallest details. Whether you’re hosting a community event, sports event, or an occasional house party, you’ll need an extra hand or two with the cleaning process.

Preparing the Space

Once you’ve chosen a venue for your event and know which theme it will revolve around, you should get a proper headcount of who will be attending ahead of time. This will not only help you have a more accurate measure of the amount of space that will be needed as well as the chance to create a more accommodating menu, but you’ll also be able to have a more organized floor plan.

You can now create a strategy of what to clean first starting one week in advance from the event date. Look at the space from a bird’s eye view on behalf of your visitors. If the party is to take place at your home, check everything from the entryways of your home to the corners and closets.

Your goal is to not only remove clutter, but to also keep everything sanitary and hospitable. After your list is ready, you can select the order of the areas you’ll tackle:

  • Windows and Doorways – Wash the windows and doors, making sure to clean the screens, as well, and remove any cobwebs.
  • Floors and Yard – Sweep the yard and/or front porch and mop/vacuum all floors (including the baseboards) in and around the home.
  • Bathrooms –Start with scrubbing the toilets and clearing the counters. Then, store toiletries, clean the bathtub/shower, and mop the floor of each bathroom.
  • Kitchen – Your should also sterilize your kitchen counters, cabinets and doors. Don’t forget to clean out the fridge and have the dishes washed and stored before guests arrive.
  • Guest Rooms –Clear up any spaces your guests will be mingling in. Make sure all books and materials that won’t be used in the party are stored away, and that there is enough space for guests to place their cups and plates.
  • Bedrooms – Make all the beds, dust tabletops, and remove all clutter. Use areas like closets, drawers and the bottoms of beds to stash away bins holding things you want to keep out of sight.

The event space should look like a bright and sparkly retreat whether it is to take place during the day or night. Polishing all spaces and making sure all the trash is taken out before the party begins will make all the difference in creating an inviting atmosphere.

Getting a Professional Clean

Once the event is over, you’ll have more cleaning to do. The chores mentioned above will have to be repeated, in addition to having to clear away all of the leftover beverage containers and dishes. You’ll have to toss towels and linens in the laundry, and store away food you’d like to keep.
